Dynamics - Let the Dance Begin a State Level Dance Competition brought out the Dancer across the State of Chhattisgarh.

Through Dynamics, ITM University provided a platform to the upcoming dancers to showcase their talent through Jazz, Classical, Hip-Hop, Regional, and Contemporary & Tribal under the category Solo, Duet & Group.

After selecting over 350 Entries across 8 Cities and 127 School/Colleges, 41 best performances (approx 170 participant) were selected for the Finale of Dynamics which was held on 22nd December 2012 @ Magneto Mall Raipur, Chhattisgarh. More than 4000 viewers were present during the event to cheer up the participants.

To sum up the Event Top 3 Performances were awarded from each of the categories (Group, Duet & Solo) along with Mementos, Certificates & Cash Prizes.

The first academic session of ITM University, Raipur was inaugurated on 23rd August 2012 at its Uparwara campus by the hands of Mr. Satya Narayan Agrawal, Chairman of Private Universities Regulatory Commission, Raipur.

The event involved a fun-filled induction program of innovative games and educative movies.  The inaugural program started with lighting of lamp & Saraswati Vandana. The beautiful shamiyana enhanced the moment.
Registrar Mr.H.S.Vyas graced the occasion by delivering the welcome address. He described ITM’s long experience in the field of education & the growth story.

ICICI Bank Sales Academy in collaboration with ITM University, announced its Certificate course in Retail Banking Sales Management. The program was launched on Monday, 16th July 2012 at 10am, at the Raipur (Chattisgarh). ITM Business Bangalore celebrated intra college fest “Aspasia” (which means Welcome in Greek) from the 12th April - 14th April 2012.

The campus also witnessed the footfalls along with the students making the event successful. “Aspasia” was enriched an event with greater bonding as a team with the  fact that Management is not only about the field of academia but about being a Team player, Creativity and Passion.

The 3 days “Aspasia” had events such as Business Plan, Collage, Role Play, Mad Ads and Business Quiz where the students unleashed their talents with applied business acumen & creativity. Also the event witnessed a truly spellbound performance through cultural dance & songs.

The whole event brought a sense of camaraderie and kinship towards the ITM Family. The event ended with applauds, accolades and trophies which reinforced student’s beliefs in themselves.

Wheels India Limited is the wheel manufacturingdivision of TVS Group and is theleading Wheel manufacturer in the country holding more than 80%market share inthe passenger car segment.

The students were given an orientation aboutthe company from its inception in the year 1962 till date. The current statusof the company in terms of turnover, production facilities, technological andmarketing strategies were explained to the students. There was a postdiscussion session during which the students interacted with the companyofficials in terms of Marketing, HR, Operations and various management aspects.The interaction session was one providing a lot of information both on theproduction and management side of the firm.

The students were taken to the manufacturing plantwhere they had a chance to learn the various processes involved in transforminga mere steel sheet into the wheel that a common man sees.

The industrial visit was very informative andprovided a practical exposure of the various principles they learn in theircourse.

Guest Lecture

He is a Bachelor in mechanical engineering with also a post graduation in Diploma and business management in Symbiosis,he has a work experience of over 25 years in companies like ATLAS COPCO SANDVIK ASIA, LARSEN & TOUBRO and had a further 5 years experience as a Consultancy.

Sir Rama krishnan gave an enthralling lecture about the business etiquettes. He started with the basic etiquette and how people used to respond to it all around the global business environment. He shared his experience about his reach in the world and about the countries he visited.

Mr. Rama Krishnan corroborate with three different countries, and explained in detail of how people show their etiquettes and variations. It is very important for a marketing person to analyze and understand the various cultural facts regarding global business. It was a useful session for all the students.

At the end of the session he said that this is not the last session with ITM , this is the beginning of his travel with ITM.

Guest Lecture

Shree Ravi is a swami related to ISKON, Bangalore. He tookquestion from students on various aspects like the Bhagvad Gita, management,caste orders, creed differences and science. It was a pleasing experience tosee the students interact on such varied topics with a high zeal.

Shree Ravi also discussed in detail about his research paperson ‘Quantum Mechanics’.

The session dispersed with the distribution of Prashadam inthe evening.

E-Vision, the Entrepreneurship Cell of ITM Business school, Kharghar hosted E-Week FUTURISTA in collaboration with 'National Entrepreneurship Network' an initiative of Wadhawani Foundation.  This year, the event was called FUTURISTA – vision for future, a theme based event to highlight the spirit of entrepreneurship.

Futurista – A week-long event was a gateway to let loose one’s creative streaks and passionately working for one’s ideas to create one's own destiny. The week-long event comprised of all shades and hues of collaborative and competitive spirit as reflected in various events organized as different competitions from 11th Feb.2012 to 18th Feb.2012.
With our motto to 'Invent the future', ITM organized Phoenix – A Treasure hunt to get immersed into the importance of time, thinking on one’s toes, being resourceful and team spirit.

Invenzione – An ideation competition offered a platform for budding entrepreneurs to contemplate about innovative ways in which they seek to bring the change they want to see in the world around them and can potentially change their way of life.

Sighs pertaining to deteriorating ecology conditions have rarely been of help, Industriology - presented the arena to advocate feasible and revolutionary ideas to combat environmental challenges and heal the Earth from the burgeoning weight of waste and toxicity.

The ideas need to metamorphosis into existence - 'Salvar El Futuro' came as an opportunity to capitalize on these ideas and present them as viable solutions.

Modernity and transparency continue to be vague notions in 2012 as social malpractices and corruption continue to haunt our society. 'Roadrama'-- the street play competition had many teams comprising very enthusiastic and budding students who donned the masque of seasoned thespians to express extremely thoughtful, satirical and sensitive subjects on the stage and engaged the audiences deeply through an emotionally roller-coaster ride.
On 11 Feb 2012, Ms. Revathy Siddhartha Roy the co-founder of VIIRA cabs, graced our Inaugural function. She runs a successful taxi service for women by women, a breakthrough concept in the realm of entrepreneurship. Ms Revathy epitomizes the woman of substance in a progressive Indian society of gutsy entrepreneurs.   On this occasion, Team TEMPEST, ITM Theatre society presented a movie ‘UMMEED’ exemplifying the need to listen to one’s heart and being true to one’s dreams and visions of life. The movie was inspirational and charged everyone to take charge of their destiny and follow their dreams.

Dr. Charu Shri, Dr. Veni Nair and Prof Neena Nanda were the faculty coordinators. ITM celebrates such events to evoke the latent talent in the students and motivate them to materialize their ideas so that they have the courage to shape the future.

Futurista owes its roaring success to the following students – Gurtej Oshan, Ramanuj Saraf, Aditi Sarak, Ritu Khare, Akshay Naik and Pallavi Singh in particular who toiled day and night to make the event into one unforgettable memory in lives of those at ITM Kharghar.

Keeping in-sync with the theme to Invent the Future, Registrations were done by scanning the QR Code in the brochure. which led to the Evision Registration desk. Much hoopla was created by the Futurista Fan Page at Facebook and regular updates on evisionfuturista2012.blogspot. 

The event was a roaring success with participants from all over India. Evision will continue this legacy and foster the Spirit of Entrepreneurship.

ITM Business School Kharghar conducted a two day International Conference on Financial Inclusion –Multi Perspectives on February 03-04, 2012 (Friday and Saturday).The event partners were National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) and National Spot Exchange.

The objective of the conference was to bring forth the various practices followed world-wide in the area of Financial Inclusion because if we talk on global basis, Financial Inclusion has come a long way in achieving the objective of impacting human lives and poverty alleviation. Millions and millions of poor people have access to savings and credit and there is a perceptible reduction in poverty where people have access to the Financial Inclusion services. Beyond savings and credit, insurance and remittance services are also being increasingly accessed by the people. Some even talk about initiated micro pension schemes to be a part of financial inclusion.

On behalf of ITM Business School, Prof S Suryanarayan, Deputy Director and Prof Sanjay Sinha, Associate Professor was coordinating the event. They stressed upon the salient features of the conference as: Bringing different school of thoughts / philosophies originating from Industry and Academia for effective implementation of Financial Inclusion, to bring out the positive fall-out of the community owned and managed Financial Inclusion models in building social capital and its larger benefits for development and to provide a platform for sharing successful experiences in engendering development outcomes through Financial Inclusion interventions encompassing livelihoods, MDGs, women empowerment, networking, Insurance and Financial Inclusion, etc.

(B) Corporate Summit (18th December, 2011): Eminent Professionals from various well known brands came under a common roof to discuss the most challenging themes from the world of Branding.

The annual event of ITM Business School, Supply Chain Colloquium, was inaugurated by the program chair Dr. V. V. Sople, Director - ITM Dombivali campus, followed by lightening of lamp by chief guest and chairman of ITM group, Dr. P.V. Ramana. The Director of ITM Kharghar, Dr. Ganesh Raja, then addresses the group and started the session with a lighter note. Mr. Niraj Ambani, chief guest and president – Reliance Logistics, continued the session by sharing his experience on logistics sector and talking on “Amid Global slowdown logistics sector looks at new solutions”. The 1st session was concluded by Mr. Shahzad Izediyar, General Manager – Mitsui OSK Line, who briefed about “IT & Business process in supply chain”.

The post tea break session started with a panel discussion on “How to compete as a leading logistics provider in an ever changing environment”. The key speakers were Mr. Pradeep Dubey General Manager - Snowman Logistics Limited, Mr. Suhas Prabhu, Thakur Institute of Management Studies, Mr. Ashish Sheth, Managing Director - Sarjak Container Lines Pvt Ltd, Captain Dinesh Gautama, Vice Chairman - Containers Shipping Lines Association of India.

Post lunch session started with an overview on “Emerging trends Asian supply chain”. First speaker Prof. Chakrabarty from NMIMS University talked about new Supply Chain Management Models which are evolving in Asia and how they can adapt to the Rise of India. Second speaker Mr. Sanjay Goel, Chairman GTC Corporation, gave his input on benchmarking with best-in-breed, innovative global supply chain strategies persisting in the industry. In the end Mr. Daryl Mascarenhas, General Manager - GlaxoSmith Kline, gave his industry experience on tactical urgency in supply chains.He also shed light on Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP ), in Glaxo Smith Klines’ Supply Chain.

Last session of the day was a round table discussion on the issues which CEO’s may face in 2011-2012. Captain Niranjan Khardenavis, Controller Materials - Indian Navy, gave his points on challenges that are faced by supply chain management in ship building and ship repair industry. Next Prof. Kedar Subramanium, Assitant Professor - NMIMS University, put his point forward on green IT and its role in supply chain which in turn is a sustainable perspective. Then Capt. Dinesh Gautama, briefed upon “Top talent: Next generation supply chain leaders – poach or groom”. Last but not the least Mr. Shantanu Bhadkamkar, Managing Director - ATC Clearing, ended the day by enlightening us how industry should learn from its past and be clear about the priorities to build the future of the industry bright and prosperous. The speakers emphasized the point that industry was looking and seeking out fresh talent and that top bosses could not help but ignore such talent.

A day full of knowledge gaining and experience sharing came to an end. Not only got the students benefited by getting the real industry picture on how shipping industry and supply chain can together make a great future but also the speaker’s who were enriched from sharing each others experiences on a common platform.

“It’s not the strongest who survives, not the most intelligent but the one most responsive to change” – Charles Darwin. This quote was used by Mr. Ramchandra Rao (Group HR Head, GVK & Director MIL) Chief Guest, for setting the ball rolling for the Conference. This was said in the context of Human Resources, meaning that HR will survive in the coming decades if it re-invents itself and remains a rolling stone.

There were great speakers who have taken their time out from their busy schedules to grace the conference were Mr.Nitin Putcha (Vice President, Operations, ITM), Prof. R.S.S Mani (Vice President, Institutional Development, ITM), and Mr. Ramachandra Rao, who addressed the Inaugural session.

Next came the ‘Plenary Session’ with an altogether new set of speakers who were all enthralling in their own way. They give their personal opinions on the topic of discussion of the day – ‘HR Practices in Public Sectors’. It can be summed up that HR should create a proper (healthy) work-culture. The term‘re-inventing’ was used because business strategies and agenda change with time. HR practices are the same but the organization’s adaptations are different. This has been discussed on a broad level by Mr. Vivek Patwardhan ( Independent Consultant, Ex-Head HR, Asian Paints ), Mr. S.K. Maddodi ( GM HR, ONGC ), Mr. S.K. Agarwal ( GM HR, NPCIL ), Mr. S. Sathiavageeswaran ( GM HR, IOCL ), Mr. Tanmay Panda ( Head HR, NPCI ), Mr. Ashis Sen ( Head Training and BSC, HPCL ).

It is said that ‘a single conversation with a wise man is better than a 100 years of study’. It is true because the points put forth by the dignitaries have added value to the general knowledge base and have provided food for thought for the present generation and the future HR professionals. This had been over emphasized by our Director Dr. Ganesh Raja.

60 research papers were presented on various HR related topics and it was chaired by Mr.P.P Srees (Head HR, BASF) , Dr.C. Babu (Director YMT) , Mr. Ramesh Pathak (Management Consultant) and Mr. M.V. Nandanwar (Dy. Manager Admin & IR, BPCL).

There was a good overall participation of academicians and students from Mumbai and outside Mumbai. Various corporate delegates were also there from Raymond, Blue Dart, Indian Rare Earth Ltd, Tata Power, NTPC, ONGC, NPCI, NPCIL and HPCL and Reliance Retail etc. Various publishers like, Himalaya, Tata Mcgraw-Hill, Wiley, Oxford, Pearson, PHI and Cambridge were also part of the event.

Finally, the valedictory address was given by Mr. Vinod Chaturvedi, the President Corporate HR & Chief People Officer, Viraj Profiles Ltd. The function came to an end with the Vote of Thanks by Dr. Snigdha Mishra, the Convener, and ITM National HR Conference 2011. Thus came to end another very successful HR conference.

Alumni meet was held on 3rd Dec, 2011 at the institute premises of ITM Bangalore. More than 100 alumni from all ITM B Schools namely Bangalore, Chennai, Warangal & Navi Mumbai graced the occasion.  Among the invited dignitaries were Dr. G K Sharma, Director, ITM Chennai, Dr. T Dayakar Rao, Director, ITM Warangal, Mr. Rajesh Pillai, National Director, Executive MBA, and Mr. Shelar, Director Operations, ITM Group.
During the event “ITM AAA (Alumni Achiever’s Award)” for the year 2010-11” were also presented to the alumni. The selection was based on their performance & achievement in the industry.
Mr. Shelar presented the memento to. Mr. Alex Mendes- ITM Navi Mumbai(1991-1993), Dr.T Dayakar Rao presented the memento to Mr.Prakash Mahapatra- ITM Warangal(, Dr G K.Sharma presented the memento to Mr, Saurabh Dafria – ITM Bangalore and Mr. Hemant Shah- ITM Bangalore, & Dr. B.S. Patil presented the memento to Ms. Pankaja  Acharya- ITM Bangalore and Mr. Prabhakar Lotulekar- ITM Bangalore.
Award ceremony was followed by a gala dinner. The evening came to an end at around 10:30 pm and ITM Bangalore family bid adieu a warm farewell to all the distinguished guest and alumni.

The vision of bringing the best of the lot from the international business on a single platform was accomplished when International Business wing of Institute for Technology and Management started their annual event IB JAAGRAN 2.0 on 10th November, 2011. The three days annual event saw participants from all over the world and the corporate houses. Mr. Nitin Putcha, Vice President of the institute, Dr. Ganesh Raja, Director of the institute, Dr. C.S. Adhikari, Dean of the institute and Prof. B.V.R. Murty, Deputy Director, GLC Department of the college graced the function as the chief guest and enlightened the students about the changing world orders.

Be it the wondrous competitions that incite sparks of passion, or the thought provoking addresses that set you thinking, or, quite simply, a personal Eureka moment amidst the deluge of ideas all around - the Jagran has all the events ranging from online to offline.

 Day 1 saw entries from colleges like Symbiosis, corporate houses like IBM, where they show their intelligence in the I-quest, the international biz quiz show. Other events like Ad-Mad and Taste Buds qualifiers took place with plenty of participation.

Day 2 started with the much awaited Mock UN Summit where Mr. Manohar Pandit and Ms. Manisha judged the students on the basis of their knowledge about the global scenario. Computer Games like Counter Strike and NFS were also the part of this IB extravaganza and saw huge amount of participation. Mock IPL was also organized by the students and it was an instant hit among the students and they cherish and enjoyed every moment of it.

Day 3 started with the most sought after event "CEO Conference" where CEO's from variety of fields graced the function and enlightened the students about "Doing Business in Uncertain Future". Educates from various colleges attended the conference and got plenty of encouragement from the esteemed guests.

The Day ended with the finals of Taste Buds where IB students brought cuisines of various countries. Carrying on with the legacy passed on to it, IB 2011-13 with their cumulative efforts made the Jaagran 2.0 an amazing show with perfect blend of learning and fun and promised to make the Jaagran 3.0 an spectacular event with more zeal and enthusiasm

Mr.Kapil Sibal, India’s Minister for Human Resource Development laid out a five point agenda for private sector involvement at a discussion, focusing on innovative models and delivery mechanisms for U.S.-India higher education cooperation, jointly organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and USIBC on 14 October 2011 in Washington D.C.

The session also featured notable people like Mr. P Rajendran, Chairman, CII National Committee on Higher Education and Co-Founder & Chief Operating Officer, NIIT Ltd; Dr. P.V. Ramana, Chairman, ITM Group, Dr. Robert Brown, President, Boston University; Mr. Avinash Vashishtha, Chairman and Managing Director, Accenture; Mr. Chandrajit Banerjee, Director General, Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and Mr.Ron Somers, President, US-India Business Council.

The discussion session was organized on the sidelines of the first ever U.S.-India Higher Education Summit which took place on October 13 in Washington D.C. and drew academics, private sector participants and government officials to discuss existing and future opportunities for collaboration.
